Most people know that October is breast cancer awareness month.

And I believe that most of you know that I am a breast cancer survivor. I was diagnosed with stage one, invasive, estrogen + cancer on November 22, 2011.

I am going to share with you something very personal. Most women struggle with making this decision when they are diagnosed with breast cancer and their doctors tell them that it would be in their best interest to have a mastectomy or in my case a double mastectomy.

What they won't tell you is WHY YOU SHOULD NOT HAVE RECONSTRUCTIVE SURGERY AND those benefits are.

What I would like to focus on now is why I chose to not have reconstructive surgery done.

This was the most difficult decision that I have ever had to make in my life!

At the time of my initial diagnosis, I thought stage one breast cancer. No big deal. After I had the biopsy and the MRI, my doctor told me that she would recommend that I have a double mastectomy along with removing my ovaries. She told me not to make my decision based on my emotions, but to think about what I would or would not regret doing ten, fifteen, or twenty years in the future.

I decided to take this advice to heart and apply it to other areas of my life. My last appointment before committing to surgery was with a plastic surgeon. My doctor explained ALL of the wonderful benefits of transflap surgery. My breasts would be reconstructed using my belly fat. It sounded exciting and scary at the same time.

I met with the plastic surgeon and he determined that I did not have enough belly fat to replace my breasts and suggested, or should I say insisted that silicon implants would be the best way to go. He didn't want to discuss with me the downside to silicon implants. I had not heard anything good about them. I suggested using saline and told me that silicon would give me a more natural look and feel. He showed me pictures and let me handle one too. I was not convinced. He kept telling me that I would look and feel like a woman again.

After I finished my normal evening routine, I decided to get on the internet and research the long-term satisfaction rate of women who had undergone reconstructive surgery using silicon implants. I spent 5 long, very emotional hours researching this subject.

The conclusion that I arrived at was: 93% of the women surveyed wished that they had not had the surgery 10 years later and 50% had had complications, some of them major during the first 5 years.

December 16th of this year will mark my 2 year anniversary of having my double mastectomy. January 11, 2014 will mark my 2nd anniversary as a survivor.

Here is a list of the benefits that I have experienced from NOT HAVING reconstructive surgery:

1. Not having reconstructive surgery is A LOT cheaper. Reconstructive surgery IS expensive. Depending on where you live it can cost up to sixteen thousand dollars WITHOUT medical insurance. Since most insurance companies cover the cost for breast cancer patients, they pay eighty per cent of the bill leaving the patient to pay twenty percent. Twenty percent of sixteen thousand dollars is A LOT of money! The cost of my prostheses and 3 bras was less than $700. After my insurance paid their portion of the bill, my cost was $97.30.

2. Reconstructive surgery IS NOT medically necessary. You can live a very healthy life without breasts.

3. There are fewer complications from NOT HAVING reconstructive surgery done. There ARE MORE complications with having reconstructive surgery done. Up to fifty percent of the women who have had reconstructive surgery done suffer major complications during the first five years. Most of these include infections or the implant rupturing. (I know I have already said this, but it bears repeating.)

4. It takes less time to recover from. Without reconstructive surgery, the recovery time is six to eight weeks. (I completely recovered in nine weeks.) With reconstructive surgery, it could take six months or longer.

5. I have A LOT more options when it comes to picking out a Halloween costume. Last year was THE BEST Halloween I had had in several years. I felt like a kid again.

6. Sleeping is A LOT more comfortable. You know how good it feels to take your bra off before you go to bed, but YOU CAN NOT IMAGINE HOW GREAT it feels to removed your breasts! (I was fitted with my prostheses on March 1, 2012.)

7. People now make eye contact with me. I can count on one hand the number of people that I know personally that KNOW what color my eyes are. Nobody stares at my chest any more and it feels wonderful!

8. Shopping for clothes is A LOT more fun! (With breasts, although I wore a size 10, my shoulders were a size 6. So if I found a blouse or dress that fit me in the shoulders, it was usually too small for my breasts. If it fit my breasts, it was usually too big in the shoulders.)

9. NO MORE MAMMOGRAMS!

10. I am now a lean, mean, hula hooping machine! (I was pretty good before I had surgery, but I am unstoppable now! There is NOTHING to get in the way!)

I could go on, but I think you've got a good idea of the benefits. If you need more convincing, feel free to contact me. I LOVE to talk on the phone and this is a subject that I am very passionate about.

I was diagnosed with stage one, invasive, estrogen receptor + breast cancer on November 22, 2011. 7 separate cancer cells were found. Only one of them was larger than a millimeter in diameter. I was fortunate to be in the 50% of the population where my cancer had not spread and I did not need to have chemo or radiation.

I had a double mastectomy, both of my ovaries and 6 lymph nodes removed from under my left arm on December 16, 2011.

I had my first base-line mammogram when I was 37. My ob-gyn ordered it and told me that if it was necessary, I should also have an ultrasound assist. Because I had large, dense breasts and I was pre-menopausal. I NEEDED an ultrasound assist.

I continued having annual mammograms until I was 43. My ob-gyn retired and because I had had a very trusting relationship with him, I made the decision to NOT GO to his partner that he left his practice to. I did not like his partner and I had no desire to drive the long distance to the hospital that he was affiliated with.

I also had no desire to find a new ob-gyn, but I KNEW that if and when it would become necessary, I would choose the Dr that one of my neighbors had recommended. This Dr had his office closer to where I live and I have had a positive experience with the hospital that he is affiliated with.

On October 19, 2011, I discovered an indentation under the nipple on my left breast and just to the right of it, I found a small lump. I called this new Dr to schedule an appointment 2 days later. I asked his receptionist if he was taking any new patients, she told me that he wasn't until after the first of the year. I "explained my situation." She put me on hold for about 10 minutes. (It felt like A LOT LONGER than that.) She told me that he could see me 1 week later.

It didn't surprise me that after my appointment with him that he ordered me to have a mammogram within the coming week. I asked him why I couldn't skip the mammogram and just have an ultrasound since I ALWAYS NEEDED to have on with my prior mammograms. He told me that the mammography tech would make that decision.

I had the mammogram 6 days later. Once again, I wasn't surprised that I needed an ultrasound.

After I had the ultrasound, the technician did not release me right away. She wanted to consult with the head of the radiology department first. She came back a few minutes later WITH him. He decided to take 4 more pictures.

I already shared the final outcome at the beginning of this blog. I can't help but wonder if the mammograms contributed to my cancer. Please read the following article and let me know what you think.
It is the beginning of a new year and for most of us, that means making New Years Resolutions in January and most likely breaking them within a month.

Now that it is the 2nd day of February, I would like to ask, how are you doing with KEEPING your New Years Resolutions? Have you broken them yet or are you on your way to keeping them?

For many years, I did not make any resolutions. This year, I decided to make 3. I decided to make them simple and achievable. I took a few steps towards making a commitment. I wrote them down on a 3 x 5 card that I have taped to the top of my desk where I can see them every day while I am working.

The title of this blog is, "Why not? Most business owners especially those that are involved with networking companies always ask their perspective business partners to answer the question, "WHAT IS YOUR WHY?" Why do you want to be your own boss? Why do you want to earn LOTS OF MONEY? Why do you want to quit your day job? The answers to these questions are supposed to get you thinking on an emotional level WHY you will stay motivated and do whatever it takes to succeed.

The answers to these questions don't always serve the purpose that they are intended. I believe because most people don't know how to make a commitment and keep it when the going gets tough. The best definition of the word commitment that I have come across is:

"There is a difference between interest and commitment. When you are interested in doing something, you do it only when its convenient. When you are committed to something, you accept no excuses, only results." Anonymous.

This is where my favorite quote and philosophy comes into play. "By small and simple means GREAT THINGS are brought to pass." It is in doing small and simple things EVERYDAY that GREAT THINGS WILL BE brought to pass.

This leads me to the question and title of this blog: Why not? Have you noticed that when a small child asks 'WHY," he isn't allowed to do something, he usually follows it up with the question, "Why not?" He wants to know WHY he shouldn't do something, not why he should. I think most of us would be much more motivated to keeping our commitments if we followed the same process of thinking as a small child.

When Thomas Edison was asked how he felt about failing to invent the light bulb over 200 times, he replied, "I did not fail at inventing the light bulb over 200 times. I succeeded at finding 200 ways not to invent the light bulb." Success or failure is all about what it means to you as an individual.

So here is my question, Why shouldn't you succeed at keeping your resolutions this year? Do you need some motivation? If you want to lose 50 pounds this year, why shouldn't you? Why not look incredible and be healthy? Do you want to earn an extra $10,000 this year? Why not take the steps necessary to achieve that? Think about what it would mean in the terms of freedom.

If you are looking for a fun and simple way to achieve your goals and keep your resolutions, why not make this the year to do it?

<span class="messageBody" data-ft="{"type":3}">Most
of my friends know that I have suffered from headaches/migraines for
most of my life and they got worse last year after my "surgical
menopause" surgery that I had at the same time I had my breasts removed.
I have been searching for and experimenting with different supplements
with some success. I thought I had them under control until October. I
came down with the flu for a few days. After it was over, my headaches
returned EVERY DAY for a week and a half and were not showing any signs
of disappearing any time soon. I went to my library and began searching
for supplements that might help. I found one. It helped out better than
ANY of the previous remedies that I had tried. It turns out that this
supplement has an added benefit. What is this supplement and what does
having headaches and migraines have to do with Minimizing Your Risk of
Getting Breast Cancer? I will tell you.
The supplement is
called Co-Enzyme Q-10. I had heard of it many years ago. I knew of some
of the protective benefits that offers for your heart. What is Co-Enzyme
Q-10? I will share this information and definition from my book,
"Disease Prevention and Treatment. It says, "Co-Enzyme Q-10 is
synthesized in humans from Tyrosine through a cascade of eight
pre-cursors. These pre-cursors require 8 vitamins which are vitamin c,
B2, B3 (niacin), B6, B12, folic acid, pantothenic acid, and
tetrahydrobiopterin as their enzymes.

"Since the 1960's,
studies have shown that cancer patients often have decreased blood
levels of Co-Enzyme Q-10. In particular, breast cancer patients (with
infiltrative ductal carcinoma) who underwent radical mastectomy were
found to have significantly decreased tumor concentrations of CoQ10
compared to levels in normal surrounding tissues. Increased levels of
reactive oxygen species may be involved in the consumption of CoQ10.
These findings sparked inerest in the compound as a potential anticancer
agent. Cellular and animal studies have found evidence that CoQ10
stimulates the immune system and can increase resistance to illness.

CoQ10 may induce protect effect on breast tissue and has demonstrated
promise in treating breast cancer. Although there are only a few
studies, the safe nature of CoQ10 coupled with this promising research
of it bioenergetic activity suggest taht breast cancer patients should
take 100 mg up to 3 times a day. It is important to tak CoQ10 with some
kind of oil such as fish or flax, because dry powder CoQ10 is not
readily absorbed.

In a clinical study, 32 patients were
treated with CoQ10 (90 mg) in addition to other antioxidants and fatty
acids; 6 of these patients showed partial tumor regression. In one of
these cases the dose of CoQ10 was increased to 390 mg and within one
month the tumor was no longer palpable, within two months the
mammography confirmed the absence of the tumor. In another case, the
patient took 300 mg of CoQ10 for residual tumor (post non-radical
surgery) and within 3 months there was nonresidual tumor tissue. This
overt complete regression of breast tumors in the latter two cases
coupled with further reports of disappearance of breast cancer
metastases (liver and elsewhere) in several other cases demonstrates the
potential of CoQ10 in the adjuvant therapy of breast cancer.

There are promising results for the use of CoQ10 in protecting against
heart damage related to chemotherapy. Many chemotherapy drugs can cause
damage to the heart, and initial animal studies found that CoQ10 could
reduce the adverse cardiac effects of these drugs."

I have been
taking 50 mg of CoQ10 twice a day with fish oil. Once in the morning
after I eat breakfast and once in the evening after I have dinner. My
headaches are almost completely gone unless I eat something that I am
not supposed to. The supplement does not give me a license to eat
anything that I want. I still have to be careful.
When I read
the above information, I made the decision that the cost of the CoQ10 is
worth every penny. Not only as a benefit for alleviating my headaches
but also as a preventative remedy for breast cancer and heart disease.

This blog is NOT about breast cancer, but it is about health and how you
can prevent or eliminate headaches and migraines from your life and
start living.

You may also ask yourself what does breast cancer have to do with
headaches and migraines? The breast cancer that I HAD was "Estrogen
positive." Which means that my cancer was caused by estrogen. I had a
partial hysterectomy when I was 38. My Dr left my ovaries because, as he
said, "38 was too young" to go into menopause. I knew that I was having
"periods" every 14 days for the better part of 5 years. Mainly due to
the fact, that aside from the "normal" changes to my breast when my periods would have occurred, I was suffering from migraines every 2 weeks. They were my "blessing and my curse" in that regards.

I am going to begin with saying that diet IS a major contributor to headaches and migraines. Several
years ago I learned that when I eat cold cuts like bologna or hot dogs
that I would get severe migraines within 24 hours. They contain nitrates
and nitrites. Certain cheeses also contain them. I also noticed that my
"once a month" craving for Dorito's and salty snacks were also
contributing to them. What ingredient does Dorito's contain that causes
headaches and migraines in some people? Monosodium glutamate, also
known as MSG. It is a preservative that manufacturers add to their food
to make it taste better and add to the shelf life. Some
manufacturers are getting wise that some people are not purchasing their
products that contain msg and have stopped using that ingredient. They
are now substituting an ingredient called, "autolyzed yeast extract or
yeast extract." It IS essentially the same thing as msg and also has the
same effects on the body that msg does.

If you are looking for a delicious, healthy, all-natural snack that does not contain any harmful ingredients that are known to cause headaches or migraines, click HERE.

Eating too much sugar can also contribute to headaches and migraines.
Consuming high quantities of salt, which has been proven to increase
blood pressure can also cause headaches and migraines.

Some prescription drugs also cause headaches and migraines. I began
taking one of those drugs in March to prevent my cancer from returning. I
will be on that drug for 5 years. My headaches started coming more
often and with greater intensity until last month. I will tell you what I
did soon.

I also recently discovered that chocolate, which contains magnesium
and is good for you, also contains copper. Some people are allergic to
copper and are not aware of it. I believe that dark chocolate, which is
"supposedly" better for you contains more copper than milk chocolate can
also contribute to headaches and migraines. This is based on my own
personal experience. I can eat milk chocolate in moderation, but dark chocolate, even in small quantities gives me migraines.

Now, back to my breast cancer story. When I went in for my follow up
visit with my gyn, who removed my ovaries, I told him that my migraines
were getting worse. (Which happens to about 50% of the women who enter
menopause naturally or surgically). I asked him what I could do to
prevent them. He told me "nothing," because my cancer was Estrogen
positive. He also told me to do "what works for me." and walked away. It
took me 6 months of trying different things before I came upon the
solution.

I mentioned in my profile, that I collect books. I came across a book titled, "The Vitamin Bible" by Earl Mindell.
It has been sitting on one of my book shelf's for at least 5 years.
Most of the books that I use for reference material have listed
magnesium deficiency as a possible reason for headaches and migraines.
For several years, I have been taking 500 milligrams of magnesium and 250 milligrams of calcium. I believed that I was, at the very least,
minimizing the frequency and intensity of my symptoms. I was wrong. It
turns out, that according to the information that I found in Earl
Mindell's book, that headache and migraine sufferers can benefit from
taking twice as much calcium as magnesium. I made the switch. I am currently taking 500 mg of calcium twice a day. Within 2
days, my headaches and migraines completely disappeared. I also take
1,000 milligrams of Vitamin D3 and a Super B-Complex every day. For the record, your body NEEDS magnesium and vitamin D3 to help your body absorb calcium.

The only time that I suffer from headaches and migraines now is when I "accidentally eat something" that triggers them.

Also, for tension headaches and for overall health, you can't go
wrong by doing 30 minutes of aerobic activity every day. Adding a
pilates, yoga or tai chi works great for preventing headaches and
migraines as well.

and share it with your loved ones who are suffering from headaches and

Most food labels use the terms Organic and All-Natural interchangeably. The products containing these labels often appear in the same grocery isle. What is the difference?

By law, products that are organic must be grown and processed according to strict government standards. The companies that produce organic products are subjected to rigorous announced and unannounced inspections by 3rd party inspectors to ensure that the product is preserved and protected from the farm to your family's home. This is why organic products cost more.

When the USDA Organic label appears on a product, it must have been grown and processed without any pesticides, antibiotics, growth hormones and genetically modified organisms (GMO's) or artificial ingredients. The soil they are grown must not have been treated with toxic chemicals and pesticides for 3 years prior to harvesting.

As far as organic meat is concerned, federal regulations require that the animals are raised in living conditions that accommodate their natural behaviors; such as grazing on pasture and being fed 100% organic feed. They must not have had any antibiotics or growth hormones administered to them.

The term All-Natural assures the consumer that the product has had minimal processing and contains no artificial ingredients such as: preservatives, nitrates or nitrites, added msg, added hormones or sodium erythrobate.
I was diagnosed with breast cancer in November of 2011. It has been a life-changing experience. It has also raised the question in my mind: Is cancer preventable? With all of the talk and hype about finding a cure for breast cancer, I can't believe more research hasn't been done on the concept of preventing breast cancer.

For me, that concept is late in arriving. But, perhaps I can help
someone who may not have this disease prevent that from happening to
them or someone they love.

Some things you can't control-like genetics and hormones that are found in almost everything that we eat. BUT, we can control WHAT WE EAT!

I have been known to go to book sales at my local library. A few years ago, I found a book titled: The Breast Cancer Prevention Diet. It was written by Dr Bob Arnot. Some of you may remember that he used to be a regular on the TV show: 20/20 many years ago.

I discovered 3 things that breast cancer needs to survive. A high-fat diet; a diet that is high in sugar; and a person who is known to keep their emotions bottled up. I am also reasonably certain that stress plays a pretty big role in the last of the previous statements.

With most of the population of the USA being over-weight or obese, I believe that there is A LOT that WE can do to prevent ourselves and our families from getting this dis-ease. Most people consume far too much soda pop. If we could eliminate that one thing from our diet and replace it with water, I believe we could considerably reduce our risk of getting breast cancer or any other cancer for that matter.

We could also take steps each day to exercise. It can be as simple as purchasing a pedometer and walking 10,000 steps a day-every day. This will also help to reduce our stress levels as well.

Eating a diet low in fat can also go a LONG WAY in reducing our risk. Eating more fruits and vegetables and minimizing our intake of saturated fats can help too. I, personally have taken margarine and red meat completely out of my diet during the past few months. It has made HUGE difference in how I feel. I can honestly say that I am in better shape physically than I have been in in the last four years.

If you are looking for a healthy snack to add to your diet that is low in fat, high in nutrition and tastes delicious, you might want to check out Jerky Direct. Their jerky is BEST that my family has EVER TASTED! I have had some important health problems to address, and it appears that the worst is now behind me.

I have had some time these past few months to do some serious evaluating of my priorities and have come to the following conclusions:

1. When you have your health, you have EVERYTHING!

2. When you are given trials in your life, the only way that you truly benefit is to share your experiences with EVERYONE that you come into contact with. You never know who your experiences and insights will help.

3.The most important things in my life are: my faith, my family and my friends. The friends that I have right now, and the new friends that I will make.

I took some time tonight to update my previous blogs. I hope that you will take the time to read them and give me any constructive criticism that will not only help me, but will also help those individuals who will visit my blog in the future. For those of you who have been following my blogs, or visiting my site, I want to say, "Thank you!"
Add to that, I am feeling inspired and empowered by Chris Gardners' latest book, Start Where You Are. He is the author of the book Pursuit of Happyness. He is also the person behind the movie of the same name that starred Will Smith. That story is about one year in his life. It was a turning point for him.
Everyone makes decisions on a daily basis that will ultimately determine where they will be in the next week, month, year, decade, etc.
So, my question to you is, "Are you in charge of your life?" Are you doing the things that you love to do? Or the things that you have to do just to stay alive?
Do you determine what time you will start work at your job? Or does your boss? Do you have job security? Yes, you do today; but what about tomorrow? I have lost count of the number of businesses that have been around for 20 years+ that have gone out of business or that are going out of business within the last year.
Will you be able to retire when you are 65? Or will you have to work part-time just to cover your medical insurance or pay for your prescriptions?
I have been working for a local charity for 8 years. The growing trend that I have witnessed first hand is that when husbands retire; wives go back to work. Why? Because in most cases, the women are younger and their husbands' retirement benefits are not keeping up with the high cost of living. Are you one of those individuals? Do you honestly believe that you will be taken care of when it comes time for you to retire? Do you believe that the government is going to bail you out?
What are you doing today to provide yourself and your family with the assurance that your financial needs are going to be taken care of?
I have read it more than once in the last year, that the only people that are guaranteed financial security are those that own their own businesses. However, to get started in most businesses you need to invest several thousand dollars and then in over 90% of those situations, the company you start will go out of business. What then, is the solution?
Network marketing is just about the only business model that is thriving in an economy like this. You have to be careful in choosing one to get involved with. There are a lot of scams out there and quite a few of them do not cost a lot to get started with.
To set the record straight, network marketing is not a "pyramid scheme." In a pyramid scheme, the operative word is "scheme." No product is being sold. You earn money just on the concept of getting other people to make an investment; there is no residual income involved. The guy at the top earns most of the money. In my opinion, that is a small part of what the traditional corporate structure is about. The guy at the top earns all the money, while the people at the bottom work like slaves to help him earn his millions.
Network marketing is an area where my husband and I have a TON of experience. You do not need to invest a lot of money to get started in most network marketing companies. Usually $500 or less. Most of them have excellent products, although in a good number of cases they are over-priced and you could just as easily purchase similar quality at your local retail store. More often than not, only about 5% of the people who join these companies will ever achieve an income that they can retire on. What about the other 95%?
I have a few questions for you. If there were a network marketing company available to you today that you could start for less than $40/month; that is producing life-changing products that are truly revolutionary; that also provides a meal for hungry children in your own neighborhood; that has executives running the company truly do care more about your success than their own bottom line; that are providing FREE training; would you make the decision to take control of your life and get started today?

If you answered, YES to the last question and are ready to take control of your life TODAY, take a FREE TOUR and learn more about how YOU can make those changes to your life. Don't delay!Chris Tryonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05781071642893397135noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5226077274275256588.post-73076306557980265362010-08-24T18:45:00.000-07:002010-08-24T18:59:29.721-07:00What are you searching for? Most home-based businesses have great products. However, from what Allan and I have witnessed, most home-based businesses are plagued by compensation plans that benefit the company and its executives. The distributors are often the losers.
Last year we decided to write down exactly what we believed the perfect home-based business would have.

The product of course, was our primary focus. It had to be all-natural, with no artificial sweeteners, colors, or stimulants. Since I have have been a natural remedy fanatic for almost the same amount of time that my husband I have been researching home-based businesses this element was crucial to our decision.

The next thing we were looking for was a company with a compensation plan that would reward everyone that joined the company. It also had to have a low price point. Something that would be affordable to the average person in today’s economy.

The company had to be debt-free. The executives had to have an understanding of what a good, solid company could do to help to turn the tide of the home-based businesses industry. They had to “leave their egos at the door” and do the things necessary to insure the success of everyone that joined their company.

The company also had to provide training to insure the success of the individuals that joined their company. Again, most companies will tell you anything to get you to join them and then do nothing to train you to help you succeed.

Most of all the company that we would like to join had to be motivated by a cause greater than the almighty dollar. They had to have a charitable heart.

Are you searching for the same things we were? If so, join us. We have found the company that meets and exceeds all of the previous criteria and more.

For more information about this company, check out this article in Direct Selling News. It speaks volumes more that we ever could on why we joined this company.

March issue company in focus, Direct Selling News,
Chris Tryonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05781071642893397135noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5226077274275256588.post-65248050600348146432009-10-15T08:28:00.000-07:002013-07-22T19:53:42.502-07:00Legitimate Home-Based Business or Scam? There are a lot of home-based businesses to choose from. However, there are also a lot of Scams. How can you tell the difference? My husband, Allan and I have been investigating home-based businesses for nearly 2 decades. I decided to create a list of some of the things that most Scams have in common. Feel free to add to this list if you like.

1. Scams usually promise that you will become rich over-night without any effort on your part. If something sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

2. Scams do not post phone numbers that you can call and talk to to a real person during normal business hours. You will usually get a recording or a number that you can call to place an order but not actually be able to make contact with anyone at the company.

3. Scams do not usually offer a product or service. Their product is usually the purchase of the system to make money.

4. Scams usually cost a lot of money to get started, but not always. Usually, it is a one-time purchase with no opportunity to earn a residual income.

5. Scams will never promise you or give you a money-back guarantee on their product or service if you are not completely satisfied.

As always, READ the fine print on any contract or policies and procedures BEFORE you sign on the dotted line. A lot of people DO NOT do this and usually wind up regretting their decision.Chris Tryonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05781071642893397135noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5226077274275256588.post-50107823342361769772009-09-17T07:09:00.000-07:002012-04-24T17:52:36.687-07:00Wealth of Health Care Reform

The President of the United States, Barack Obama, is trying to encourage Congress to pass the health Care Reform Bill. But no matter if the bill passes or fails, you are still going to have to be the one to take care of your health. Do not leave the future of your health Care in the governments hands alone. President Obama correctly stated, "This issue affects the health and financial well-being of every single American ".

Every single American is going to have to use health prevention techniques to help lower and even eliminate health care cost. It has been statistically proven that if people do the very basic: eat right, get plenty of sleep, drink 32 oz. of spring water a day, and live a stress-free lifestyle, it will add many more years to their life and lessen dis-ease.

The average American spends $3700 dollars per year on health cost. If you use health care prevention techniques, you save thousands if not hundreds of thousands of dollars. For example, I have not use the present health care system for over 32 years. This means that based on the average yearly cost, I saved over $118,400 dollars. Taking care of your health will help you to allocate those funds to build greater wealth for you and your family. Moreover, health prevention lifestyle will save you time, energy and may make you wealthy. You health is your wealth.

So, the true healthcare provider is YOU! It is time for you and I to make no more excuses and take complete and total control of our mind, body and spirit. The doctors do not heal the body, the body heals itself. It is our responsibility to assist the body in healing itself: first do no harm.

Trust that you are your first physician and tap into your intuitive abilities to let you know what is right and wrong for you. All the answers to all your wellness needs lies within side of you. God has given you what you need to live a great life.

Hence, you can build greater wealth and health for you, your family and our Country.

Wishing the best of health, wealth and happiness.

Just like Dr Bomani, my family has managed to avoid a lot of expense on our family's health care. We have only seen our Dr.'s for regular check-ups and only a handful of emergencies in the last 26 years. It is not that difficult to be pro-active about your health. It is so much easier to prevent illness than it is to treat it.

Well said, Dr. Bomani.

I can not live without peanut butter. Occasionally I crave something salty. In my teenage years, I lived for Doritos. Do any of these foods sound like they would be healthy? All of them are high in calories. 2 of them are high in salt content and my personal favorite, peanut butter is loaded with fat. Could this be part of the reason why my scale won't budge?????

Let me offer an alternative. Beef jerky. It has been a staple of the American diet for centuries. It is also a great finger food. No utensils required. It is high in protein and low in calories and fat and is very filling. You don't need to eat a lot of it to feel satisfied. It sounds like the perfect snack now, doesn't it?

There is a down side to most of the beef jerky that you purchase in stores. It is loaded with preservatives, nitrites and MSG. Not very healthy at all. Most of these ingredients give me migraines. Since I am a natural health fanatic, I do not purchase my jerky from the stores any more. So, what is a person supposed to do? Jerky Direct!

I will be honest, if this sounds like an advertisement, it is! I have tried the store brands. They are cheap. But they come with a price as I previously mentioned.

My family has been purchasing jerky from Jerky Direct for the last few months. It is delicious and nutritious. It does not contain nitrites, MSG or preservatives. It also comes in a variety of flavors. Everyone that has tried it has stated beyond a reasonable doubt, that it truly is THE BEST JERKY THEY HAVE EVER HAD!

So why not find out for yourself? Dare to compare. I know that you will be impressed.

This is also an excellent home-based business. You have a consumable product that people will purchase month after month. At $12/month plus $1.95 shipping it is affordable on any budget.

(For those who are vegetarians, they also have fruit sticks available. Give them a try. They also have snacks for your dog too!)Chris Tryonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05781071642893397135noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5226077274275256588.post-18632124902347275722009-01-27T09:54:00.001-08:002012-04-24T17:59:16.773-07:00Social networkingI have actively been using the internet to network for a couple of months. It has been a REAL LEARNING EXPERIENCE. Once again, when you first start out, you get a lot more information than you could ever possibly comprehend, much less put into practice. There are as many resources available to help you network on the internet as there are people using them. It is all VERY OVERWHELMING.

Fortunately, I catch on fast. At least that's what my friends tell me. Let me give you some basic rules to follow. This is not just for internet marketing but marketing yourself to others as well.
Especially if you find that you are in need of an income because of being down-sized, or any other tragic circumstance that is likely to occur.

Rule #1. People do not care about how much you know until they know how much you care! Let's face it. We are all selfish whether we want to admit it or not. We really don't care about offers from you. We are just trying to tell you about our offers. We want you to purchase whatever product or service we are offering because we know it is the best thing to come along since "home-made bread." Other people feel the same way that you do about their own business or service. So, how do you show people that you care about their offers or services? It's simple. You ask them. Be sincerely interested in their programs and they will become sincerely interested in yours.

Rule #2. Most of the population believes that network marketing is a SELLING BUSINESS. A good friend and mentor has informed me otherwise. Network marketing is a TELLING BUSINESS. If you have to sell someone your services or products, odds are they are not going to stay very interested for very long. When you tell them about your business and how it can HELP them in ways that they need, they are more likely to trust you and then get involved with what you are promoting. NONE OF US LIKE TO BE SOLD ON ANYTHING. We like to sell ourselves.

Rule #3. Know which sites are the most helpful for you to use when marketing yourself on the internet. I have a couple of suggestions that have helped me considerably the last couple of months.

Facebook is not just for kids anymore. It is an excellent place to advertise your business for free and network with other people who have similar interests. Look for your friends or find a group of like-minded individuals to develop friendships with. Remember to be genuinely interested in who ever you develop a relationship with.

http://www.twitter.com is a tremendous resource once you learn how to use it. It's not just for blogging. It truly is a powerful tool for promoting your own business, regardless of what that business is. If you are interested in starting a twitter account, let me know. To follow me on twitter, click on: http://www.twitter.com/christinetryon

Never underestimate blogging. This is a tremendous way to get the word out about whatever you are doing. This site is great for receiving valuable teaching on how to create a blog and your own niche in the internet community.

Chris Tryonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05781071642893397135noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5226077274275256588.post-35093953010828367442009-01-24T11:04:00.001-08:002012-04-24T18:06:47.218-07:00Why multi-level marketing? What's so great about Multi-Level Marketing? The obvious answer is that they pay on more than one level. You don't just get paid for your own efforts. You get paid for helping other people's efforts and for helping them succeed. They provide a "network of support." The more people you help succeed, the more you will succeed! In our current economy, where it is becoming increasingly more difficult to survive on two incomes, let alone one, more and more professionals and educated people like you are joining network marketing companies.

The honest and reputable companies that are doing things the "right way." They attract people who really do care about helping others. They do create a network of support.

My favorite motivational speaker of ALL TIME is Zig Ziglar. His philosophy has always been that you can have everything you want in life when you help enough people to get what they want. He has also stated the following on network marketing, or multi-level marketing, "Network marketing, more than any other structure I have ever seen, brings that concept into manifestation."

For those of you who are familiar with Stephen R. Covey, (One of his most popular books is 7 Habits of Highly Effective People), has stated, "Network marketing has come of age, it's a way to independence for millions of people."
So, if you are looking for a low-cost network marketing company that exemplifies these concepts, check out Jerky Direct! Chris Tryonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05781071642893397135noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5226077274275256588.post-6022066875258995952009-01-22T07:04:00.000-08:002012-04-24T18:12:21.780-07:00MLM-How to choose a compensation planPreviously I discussed what to do before choosing a home-based business. Now I would like to give you a few things to look for in a compensation plan. (Make sure the company you are considering offers a legitimate product at a reasonable price.)

1. Is it easy to understand? Can you understand the requirements to earn compensation without hiring an interpreter? Can you explain it to a 6 year old?

2. Is it clear how much you must purchase in order to earn compensation on your down line? Are there several ways to earn an income? (Through retail sales of the product, fast-start bonuses, long-term residual income on your downline, etc.)

3. Does the compensation plan reward the part-time marketer as well as the full-time marketer? Most people who get involved with an MLM company are part-timers looking to get started earning an income so that they can eventually replace their full-time income from their J-O-B's.

4. Is it a balanced leg, binary system? This is by far the most difficult compensation plan to understand. Do you have to attain a certain amount of retail volume or sponsor someone to purchase a required amount before you can earn any commission. Is that amount more than most people can comfortably afford?

5. Is there a point system involved? Which for me does not make any sense at all. The amounts should be clear in dollars not points. This is equally as confusing in most cases as the binary marketing plans.

6. Expandable matrix compensation plans would be the ideal situation. I believe these plans can create laziness on the part of most, because they expect their up lines to do the work, while they earn a check. Compensation plans should be beneficial for all involved. Although it can be a good tool to motivate people to do their part to help their down lines once they see an income coming in through no effort of their own. Which, from my own personal experience rarely happens.

Once again, there is a lot more I could include, but I believe this list covers the most common types of marketing plans.

As an example of a company that I consider to meet the above requirements, I would like to suggest that you take a look at Jerky Direct. They offer a legitimate product at a reasonable price and the compensation plan is straight-forward and simple to understand.
My husband and I have been involved with more than a few. We have researched probably hundreds over the last 20 years. Most people would call us quitters. Most people would say that the businesses we were involved with didn't fail us, we failed them because we quit too soon.

I don't entirely agree. There a certain things the average person needs to consider BEFORE getting involved with any home-based business. I would like to share a few of them with you.

1. What is the actual cost of getting involved with the company? Not just the product, but the advertising that comes along with any business you decide to promote.

2. Is there a legitimate product involved that you simply can not live without? Is it reasonably priced?

3. If there is a sponsor involved, do you trust him or her? Are you willing to be trained by them
and honestly believe they have your best interests at heart?

4. If you are doing business with a company, is there a phone number you can call and get your questions answered by a "real person?" This is critical when determining if the company is legitimate or a scam.

5. Is the company a member of the Better Business Bureau?

6. Does the company have an actual mailing address and not a post office box? Most legitimate companies have a mailing address.

I am sure I could list a few more considerations, but I will end this blog for now. Stay tuned for further updates.Chris Tryonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05781071642893397135noreply@blogger.com0
