Are You Prepared for an Emergency?
I don't do this very often. I am going to re-post a blog that I wrote earlier this year. It is titled:
The average price for an ounce of silver is $27.93. The price for an ounce of silver increased by 27% in 2010.
The price of gold increased by 30% in 2010. The average cost for an ounce of gold peaked in November of 2010 at $1,431.
Last year, the average cost of living increased by 8.1% nationwide. This was what was reported on October 25, 2010. I don't think most of us who are working at our current jobs experienced that much of an increase in our paychecks. Did you?
Let me share a few examples of just how much the cost of living actually increased based on the cost of some basic foods.
The cost of corn went up 45% during the last 3 months of 2010.
The cost of for a dozen eggs went up by 11%.
This year, the cost of meat is expected to rise 3.5%. Dairy is expected to rise by 5.5%. The cost of fruits and vegetables is supposed to go up as well, but not as much as meat and dairy prices.
Did you know that in the year 1933, at the height of the Great Depression, the US Government, under the "Gold Confiscation Act" confiscated gold money from its citizens and replaced it with paper Federal Reserve Notes? What's to say that our current government wouldn't considering doing something similar?
I have heard it said from more than one source, that some time during the next 5 years, the value of the dollar will decline rapidly causing the prices of food, gas and other goods to rise dramatically. It is already starting to happen.
Based on the information that I have shared with you, which do you think is the best investment? Can you afford to purchase an ounce of gold or silver right now?
How about food reserves? Do you have enough on hand to survive comfortably for a month? How about a year? What would you do if you lost your primary source of income tomorrow? What about if your city or town suffered a natural disaster? Have you noticed that Grocery stores are the 1st place people go to when a major storm is approaching? Everything from earthquakes, to tornadoes and flooding through most states in the United States of America. A lot of people were not prepared. Most of them did not have a lot of fore-warning when these disasters hit. Many of them lost everything they had. Those who were prepared, had peace of mind and were able to help their neighbors.
I really believe in this saying: "If ye are prepared, ye shall not fear."
Then there is always the case of people losing their jobs, or getting sick. What do those people do if they don't have any food or emergency reserves saved up? They turn to their families, perhaps their church, or the government for assistance.
My question is: When you have some fore-warning that a natural disaster is heading your way, what do you think is going to be the most helpful for your survival? Gold, Silver or Food? Of course, you need to have money to purchase food. You can't spend gold or silver at your local grocery store. In most cases, stores run out of the essential items, like bread and milk pretty quickly. Then what do you do?
Now, if you had your own food storage built up at home, you would have more time to prepare for emergencies. You wouldn't have to run to grocery store to make any last minute purchases.
I am going to ask another question now. If there was a way to build up food storage and preparedness items at a low-cost reasonable price, would you like to know how YOU can do that?
